Up-and-coming belgian-bolivian artist IMAINA releases new single “The One” on the 29th of April. She continues to share her dreamy pop universe as she prepares us for her upcoming new EP, out this year.
After the warm reception of her latest single “Corazón'' with billboards across Brussels, the hypnotizing artist is back with a second single out of her upcoming EP. This time, she tackles boundaries in love and freedom as well as the liberty to date and flirt with no attachments.
“I had a period in my life where I didn't want anything serious, I didn’t want to settle down and I definitely didn’t want to be “The One” for someone. This track is about that and how I can’t and won’t fill the expectations of everyone”.
Produced by Coy Lurker, the songstress’s brother, “The One” showcases once again IMAINA’s powerful vocals, accompanied with layered synths, engaging drums and an overall haunting and dreamy musical production.
"The One" is accompanied by a live session filmed in "Chou Sando", a trendy japonese restaurant in the heart of Brussels. Imaina and her band show us how to break hearts in a fresh and sexy way!
IMAINA is an exciting up-and-coming singer-songwriter, composer and performer based in Brussels.
Born in Bolivia to a Bolivian mother and a Belgian father, IMAINA grew up following her nomad parents around the world and listening to an eclectic mix of genres, and is now inspired by artists ranging from Kali Uchis, Bolivian folklore to Sevdaliza and Lana del Rey. Her music is the perfect reflection of who she is. Melancolic yet positive, vulnerable yet strong, all wrapped up in electro-pop music in Spanish and English. She aims to express herself in the most genuine way, combining elements of her past, her indigeneous roots and her bruja energy.
After writing songs since the age of 13, singing in bars, busking, and making videos on YouTube, she was scouted by the producers of The Voice Belgium and participated on the show’s 7th season. This experience was the boost IMAINA needed to pursue a career in music.
Her debut EP Wounds was released in 2021 and was well received in Belgium and Bolivia, with tv and radio broadcasting.
IMAINA is now working on a new, lighter and sexier EP out soon in 2022.
